Verified American Origin

What This Is

Every coin is traceable to the original 1886 copper from the Statue of Liberty, removed during the 1984–1986 centennial restoration .

What This Is Not

Not government-issued currency, not an investment product, not a security. These are authenticated collectible historical artifacts with provenance documentation.

A Finite and Tangible Piece of History

Why It's Finite

All the remaining original copper removed during the restoration will be used for this commemorative coin project. No reproductions. No future supply.

What You Own

What you own is a permanently limited piece of a beloved national monument. This is a true American heirloom historical artifact you can own now and pass down to future generations.

THE NARRATIVE

FROM MATERIAL TO ARTIFACT

Own a piece of American history. Pass it down. Make it yours.

The Statue

For nearly a century the Statue of Liberty weathered salt air, storms and time, becoming a symbol of hope and freedom recognized around the world. During her 1984–1986 centennial restoration her copper and iron infrastructure was replaced by steel.

The Copper

The copper removed from the statue was preserved, so future individuals, not institutions alone, could personally hold a piece of America's most enduring symbol. This is the original 1886 copper removed during the Statue of Liberty's restoration, now yours to own.

The Artifact

Each artifact is struck from this preserved copper, turning history into a permanent physical legacy you can own, hold, and pass down to future generations. This is personal ownership of history, a family legacy artifact that connects you to the story of freedom, and American identity. As the nation approaches America's 250th anniversary, these artifacts represent a tangible connection to our shared heritage.

This copper did not disappear. It was preserved, so you can own it.

An Authentic Piece of History

Chain of Custody

Real Liberty Copper™ maintains complete chain-of-custody records that trace each artifact from its removal through current stewardship, with restoration logs, and transfer records establishing unbroken provenance.

Authorized Preservation & Private Stewardship

The copper used in Real Liberty Copper™ artifacts was removed during the Statue of Liberty's federally authorized 1984–1986 restoration. As part of that process, the material was cataloged, preserved, and permanently separated from the monument under established preservation protocols.

Like many historically significant restoration materials, this copper entered lawful custodial stewardship rather than being returned to the structure itself. It has since been preserved, documented, and transferred through verifiable custodial channels.

Ownership of Real Liberty Copper™ artifacts represents private stewardship of authenticated historical material, not ownership of the Statue of Liberty, and is consistent with long-established practices in American historical preservation.

Documentation

Real Liberty Copper maintains archival-grade documentation detailing its provenance, restoration-era origin, and custodial history. These records reflect established museum and preservation practices used to document historical materials removed during authorized conservation projects.

The documentation ensures long-term traceability and allows future custodians to verify the artifact's historical context, origin, and stewardship without relying on speculative or destructive testing methods.

Why It's Unique

The coin represents the first time the Statue of Liberty's original 1886 copper removed during the restoration has been fashioned into a historic national artifact available to the public in commemorative form. It is also the last time this copper will ever be available. The remaining material is reserved for the 250th Anniversary United States Lady Liberty Coin Project, making each piece a permanently limited artifact.
